We’ve recently designed Trestle Arts Base’s new brochure for the the first half of 2012:
I recently met Shaun Clark and Kim Noce of Mew Lab – they create some really lovely animation, with a beautifully quirky and handcrafted feel to it – right up our street! We hope to work with them in the near future, though in what form as yet remains to be seen. Here is their showreel:

This is the finished promotional film we did for Trestle Unmasked/Blindeye Theatre’s production The Man With The Luggage. We’ve received some really great feedback from this.

We’ve just received some exciting news regarding this promo – however as nothing is finalised yet we can’t say what, so as ever, watch this space!
The Trestle Unmasked/Blindeye Theatre Production The Man With The Luggage toured from September to December and VIDEOfeet are very proud to have been a part of it!
As well as producing the promotional film for the production we also created the sound design for the play. From collaging the original music composed by Ben Glasstone to create haunting dreamscapes to creating the sound of trees creaking in the wind but – crucially – with no sound of the wind in the leaves (extrapolating from a sample of a creaking door), it also presented the exciting opportunity for me (along with Olly, the director and leading man Nick) to visit Oscar™ winner Jim Broadbent, no less, in his North London home to record a monologue for the play! Needless to say Mr Broadbent was as charming and welcoming to his home as you could possibly hope, offering us hot drinks (gratefully declined, natch) and a large chunk of his time with not even the slightest hint of any imposition.
Last year we made a website for Tora Young, a fantastic London based Make-up artist.
She wanted a site that is simple, clean and elegant to give prominence to her portfolio with as little distraction as possible.
We’re really pleased with the overall results.

As with all the sites we have built over the last couple of years we used WordPress – it’s so satisfying to hand over a site to a client giving them full control over the content – empowering them to be their own web administrator and taking control of their marketing at first hand.
We’ve got a couple of other new sites that will be going live over the next couple of months, including a ‘flagship’ site for Trestle Arts Base that is going to be massive, so watch this space!
During the last while we have been designing and producing the poster and short animated promo for Trestle Unmasked’s upcoming production The Man with the Luggage.
Matt sorted the poster out and we all got together on the animated promo working on sound design, animation etc. in collaboration with The Man with the Luggage Director Oliver Jones of Blindeye Theatre.
We really like the initial bits we’ve created and are pleased to say that we will be working to produce the sound design for parts of the show itself.

We’re past the first stage of applying for an Arts Council Escalator Grant! The idea of getting money to make art seems pretty incredible to us. But it is looking more and more like an actual reality!
Escalator have accepted our proposal so it looks like we’ll get it, but you can’t take anything for granted in the current (economic/political/social) climate. So wish us luck!

After a lot of work Matt has finally finished the poster for Trestle Unmasked and Increpacion Danza’s theatre production of ‘The Birthday of the Infanta’. We’re really pleased with it and we think they are too.
Initial inspiration for the feel of the poster came from the work of the artist Mark Ryden (www.markryden.com) – the difficulty lay mainly in doing something with a similar feel, but within our own style and not derivative of his work. It took time to get there but we definitely feel we have achieved this goal.

This is the original sketch that Matt did of the ‘ugly boy’ in the play. This was not used in the final poster but a variation on this has been used for the flipside of the flyer.
The next step on our work for ‘The Birthday of the Infanta’ is a series of promo films for the show. At the moment we’re working on a short (20 second) teaser promo, the next step will be some interviews with the director, Emily Gray, and this will be followed by a full promo before the tour commences in March.
We went to The Book Club in Shoreditch for our friend, the beautiful and brilliant artist/photographer/maker of enclosures for exotic creatures Chris Taylor’s birthday. Matt gave him this ink portrait. It’s not flattering, but it is Chris. I didn’t get him anything ‘cos I’m a cheap ass. Nonetheless, Happy Birthday Chris!
