Trestle Mask Journey Film

We made this film for Trestle Arts Base to promote their theatrical mask making on their new website. It’s a video of the journey of a Trestle mask being created.

It includes original music by Al that he and Matt are going to develop into a full track at some point in the future (ie when we have some free time…so probably about June 2014). Also Trestle played the music when being given an award at the ‘Mayor’s Pride Awards 2012′ in St Albans. It was really cool hearing it played loud in the Alban Arena and it seems to have become a bit of an unofficial theme song for Trestle!

The New Trestle Website

Trestle LogoThe new Trestle website went live on the 29th of March 2012. You can check it out here: http://www.trestle.org.uk I know, reader, that was a while back, but what can I say, things have been pretty unreasonably busy, so getting time to do stuff like blog updates is pretty rare! Anyway, back to the Trestle website, which undoubtably represents the pinnacle of the web design work that we have done so far and is further evidence that Jim is an actual wizard (in addition to the now, frankly, massive beard and pointy, star encrusted hat and as well as being Godzilla). As such, it represents our flagship website and already seems to be drawing interest in building more websites for other people. What is more the lovely people at Trestle seem to be really happy with it! But when O when will we get the opportunity to convert our own website to Wordpress?! Probably not soon…(sob)

AWN! On The Radio!

We are pretty much blown away to have had the Arthur Winkler NOW! album ‘The Yellow Emperor’ (basically Matt and I in the noise laundry) broadcast on Bruges (Fucking Bruges!) radio station Villabota on the ASYLA experimental show, in its entirety! The album basically bookends the show, entitled ‘Episode of the Emperor, Or Ruler’, with Side A being played at the start and Side B being played at the end of the show. Here is the show on mixcloud:

Episode of the Emperor, or the Ruler by Asyla on Mixcloud

How cool is that?!

If you view it on mixcloud the show is described as “A feel good noise mix in the sandwich with Arthur Winklers’ Yellow Emperor.” Which is also really cool. It’s like Disperse is a properly legitimate organisation…

Massive thanks to Alex Goetinck who runs the ASYLA show for such a fantastic compliment and of course for putting us on the show. Given the sort of music we make, it’s extremely gratifying to know that there is a ‘market’ for it and that there are people out there who dig it.

Trestle Brochure

We’ve recently designed Trestle Arts Base’s new brochure for the the first half of 2012:

Have a flick through – they’ve got some really interesting stuff coming up!

Mew Lab

I recently met Shaun Clark and Kim Noce of Mew Lab – they create some really lovely animation, with a beautifully quirky and handcrafted feel to it – right up our street! We hope to work with them in the near future, though in what form as yet remains to be seen. Here is their showreel:

Man With The Luggage

This is the finished promotional film we did for Trestle Unmasked/Blindeye Theatre’s production The Man With The Luggage. We’ve received some really great feedback from this.

We’ve just received some exciting news regarding this promo – however as nothing is finalised yet we can’t say what, so as ever, watch this space!

The Man With The Luggage/Jim Broadbent!

The Trestle Unmasked/Blindeye Theatre Production The Man With The Luggage toured from September to December and VIDEOfeet are very proud to have been a part of it!

As well as producing the promotional film for the production we also created the sound design for the play. From collaging the original music composed by Ben Glasstone to create haunting dreamscapes to creating the sound of trees creaking in the wind but – crucially – with no sound of the wind in the leaves (extrapolating from a sample of a creaking door), it also presented the exciting opportunity for me (along with Olly, the director and leading man Nick) to visit Oscar™ winner Jim Broadbent, no less, in his North London home to record a monologue for the play! Needless to say Mr Broadbent was as charming and welcoming to his home as you could possibly hope, offering us hot drinks (gratefully declined, natch) and a large chunk of his time with not even the slightest hint of any imposition.

Website For Tora Young

Last year we made a website for Tora Young, a fantastic London based Make-up artist.

She wanted a site that is simple, clean and elegant to give prominence to her portfolio with as little distraction as possible.

We’re really pleased with the overall results.

Click here to check it out.

As with all the sites we have built over the last couple of years we used WordPress – it’s so satisfying to hand over a site to a client giving them full control over the content – empowering them to be their own web administrator and taking control of their marketing at first hand.

We’ve got a couple of other new sites that will be going live over the next couple of months, including a ‘flagship’ site for Trestle Arts Base that is going to be massive, so watch this space!

Wildstyle!

I saw some tidy ‘Wildstyle’ Graf at the start of the Alban Way while riding in today, so I stopped and took some pics.

Nuff ’spect, etc.

This tune I made…

moonlight thumbnail Altered Beast – Moonlight by Disperse Records

I made this a while back and have been meaning to post it somewhere for ages. Finally this seems like the perfect opportunity for some reason.

It’s a dusty RZAish beat banged out in a day for a bit of fun. Reclaimed from an old northern soul tune I heard out in the car, with teh missus, listening to Paul O’Grady on Radio 2. Rock & Roll.
